MoAF to Display Collection Highlights at International Money Exposition in OctoberTuesday, September 26, 2023

The Museum has been invited to display some of the most important documents from its world-class collection at the International Money Exposition (IMEX) in Nashville, TN. IMEX is a global money show that is expected to attract more than 350 dealers and thousands of attendees from around the world.

Among the objects to be displayed are Alexander Hamilton’s 1790 “Report on the Public Credit”; President George Washington’s 1792 federal bond for $185.95 of assumed debt; the earliest known check in the public domain; a US Steel Corporation $100,000 bond issued to Andrew Carnegie in 1901; and a blank check signed by President John F. Kennedy and carried by his Secret Service when he was assassinated in Dallas.

IMEX will be held at the Music City Center in Nashville. It will be open to the public from 10am-6pm on Friday, October 27, and from 9am-5pm on Saturday, October 28.

Walking Tour


Annual Great Crashes Walking Tour
Saturday, October 28, 2023 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Relive the Great Crash of 1929 on the Museum's annual crash-themed walking tour of Lower Manhattan. This unique walking tour, now in its 35th year, is the only regularly-scheduled event that commemorates the Great Crash of 1929, the Panic of 1907 and the 1987 stock market collapse. It also delves into the political, financial, real estate and architectural history of Wall Street and New York City.

Tour meets outside the Alexander Hamilton US Custom House (One Bowling Green, NYC). $15 per person; MoAF members receive free admission to one walking tour per year. The rain date for this tour is November 4 at 1pm.
