New York, NY – On Wednesday, September 24, the Museum of American Finance will host a lively panel discussion on money and the art world entitled “Banking on Art: Diverse Perspectives on Financing the Art Market” to explore how collectors, dealers, auction houses and specialized lenders support the multi-billion dollar art market. The program will be held from 5:30 – 7:00 pm in the Museum’s education center, located at 48 Wall Street.
The distinguished panel of speakers will include:
Andy Augenblick – President, Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance
Roland Augustine – President, Art Dealers Association of America and Owner, Luhring Augustine
Amy Cappellazzo – Senior Vice President and International Co-Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art, Christie's International
Randy Slifka – Principal, Slifka Asset Management, and contemporary art collector
Lindsay Pollock, art journalist and author, will moderate the discussion.
This event is part of the Museum’s 2008 Henry Kaufman Financial History and Practices Lecture/Symposia Series. Admission is free for Museum members and press, and $15 for non-members.
