Join the Museum, in partnership with the New York Public Library’s Thomas Yoseloff Business Center, for a FREE eight-part virtual series on investing. Designed to lead you through basic investment concepts, the series aims to provide participants with a greater understanding of what professional investors look for when reviewing stocks, bonds, mutual funds and options.
The series begins on Tuesday, July 8, at noon and continues each Tuesday through August 26. Each program will build on the knowledge gained in the previous session. Participants are welcome to register for some or all of the individual programs.

- July 8 at 12 Noon Investing In Stocks: Analysis Professor Rick Carew, adjunct professor of Finance & Economics at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business, discusses the differences between investing and speculation, value stocks versus growth stocks, and how that can be measured explaining different ratios such as return on assets, debt to equity, price/earnings ratios, relative price/earnings ratios, dividend yields and more.

- July 22 at 12 Noon Investing in Bonds Join Prof. Sris Chatterjee, Gabelli Chair in Global Security Analysis at Fordham University, for an introduction to bonds and bond terminology and learn about relationship between bond prices and interest rates and other important risks when purchasing bonds.
- July 29 at 12 Noon The Importance of Interest Rates and Markets Prof. Richard Sylla surveys the many interest rates that confront us, how they are determined by supply and demand in money and capital markets, and how they are affected by central banks such as the US Federal Reserve.
- August 5 at 12 Noon Introduction to Investing in Stocks Presented by Robert Mascio, the director of the FINRA Foundation, who works on issues related to investor protection and financial exploitation.
- August 12 at 12 Noon Origins of the Capital Markets Using original documents from the Museum of American Finance’s vast collection, MoAF President David Cowen showcases the plan that Alexander Hamilton created to build the US financial system.
- August 19 at 12 Noon Seven Essential Strategies for Successful Investing for Retirement Presented by Erik Blake, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and the founder of Blake Wealth Management, specializing in helping women navigate retirement with confidence.
- August 26 at 12 Noon Equity Options: Core Concepts and Terms Presented by Ken Keating, Associate Principal for Investor Education at the OCC and a certified instructor for The Options Industry Council.
