Ben Tarnoff, author of Moneymakers: The Wicked Lives and Surprising Adventures of Three Notorious Counterfeiters (Penguin Press), will give a visual presentation about the history of counterfeiting from the 17th century to the Civil War. Learn about the individual counterfeiters themselves, colorful characters whose spectacular exploits made them the outlaw celebrities of their day. Hear about the conditions that made America a counterfeiter's haven for much of its history. Discover the role that counterfeiting played in the making of the American financial mind.
