2024 MoAF Gala Video Now Available


2024 Gala Honoring Richard H. Clarida, Howard Marks, Charles M. Royce and Tina Byles Williams
Thursday, March 7, 2024 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The Museum honored the achievements of four financial leaders with awards at its 2024 Gala on March 7. CNBC Senior Markets Correspondent Bob Pisani and “WealthTrack” Executive Producer and Managing Editor Consuelo Mack served as masters of ceremony.

Richard H. Clarida, PIMCO's global economic advisor and former vice chairman of the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve System, received the Whitehead Award for Distinguished Public Service and Financial Leadership. Charles M. Royce, founder, chairman and portfolio manager of Royce Investment Partners, received the 2024 Financial Innovation Award. The Museum of American Finance Lifetime Achievement Award honored the career of Howard Marks, co-chairman and co-founder of Oaktree Capital Management. A Special Recognition honor was presented to Tina Byles Williams, the CEO, CIO and founder of Xponance, a $14 billion multiple strategy investment company.

MFA Registration Information

The Museum Finance Academy (MFA) is a FREE five session personal finance certificate course for 11th and 12th graders with the goal of teaching students to aspire to financial independence through developing an appreciation for savings, establishing financial goals and learning to avoid scams. In Spring 2024, this course will be conducted over Zoom on five consecutive Tuesdays: April 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7, from 4:15–5:30pm (Eastern) or 4:45–6:00pm (Central).

This course requires NO prior knowledge of finance, business or economics. Top student(s) of the semester will be awarded a partial college scholarship. Register today.

Gregory Makoff on "Default: The Landmark Court Battle Over Argentina’s $100 Billion Debt Restructuring"

Harvard fellow, US Treasury adviser and author Gregory Makoff discusses the riveting story of Argentina's sovereign debt drama. In Default, Makoff describes the intense fight over the role of the IMF in Argentina's 2005 debt restructuring and the ensuing decade of bitter litigation with holdout creditors. This cautionary tale lays bare the institutional, political and legal pressures that come into play when a country cannot repay its debts.
