A Conversation with Paul Volcker

2011 Henry Kaufman Lecture/Symposia Series

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 | 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Please join us for this Kaufman Series event with legend of finance Paul Volcker. Mr. Volcker served in the federal government for almost 30 years during five presidential administrations, and was Chairman of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board under President Barack Obama from February 2009 until January 2011.

Appointed as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, he was re-appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1983. As Chairman of the first National Commission on the Public Service (the “Volcker Commission”) in 1988 and the second Volcker Commission in 2002, he established himself as one of the nation’s strongest advocates for the revitalization of the public service.

Dr. Richard Sylla, the Henry Kaufman Professor of the History of Financial Institutions and Markets at the NYU Stern School of Business and the Chairman of the Museum, will facilitate the discussion.
