Howard W. Buffett and Matthew Bishop on "Social Value Investing"

In Social Value Investing, Howard W. Buffett and William Eimicke present a new way to approach some of society’s most difficult and intractable challenges. Although many of the world’s problems may seem too complex to solve—inequality, climate change, affordable housing, corruption, healthcare, food insecurity—solutions to these challenges do exist, and will be found through new partnerships bringing together leaders from the public, private and philanthropic sectors.

Walking Tour


Walking Tour: George Washington's New York
Saturday, February 15, 2020 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Join us on President's Day weekend for a 90-minute walking tour of the Financial District, with an emphasis on George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and 18th century financial history.

Tour meets outside 48 Wall Street (at Bank of New York sign). $15 per person; MoAF members receive free admission to one walking tour per year. Register today.

Museum of American Finance 2020 Gala Honoring Dan Schulman, James P. Gorman and Peter A. Cohen

The Museum will honor the achievements of three financial leaders at its 2020 Gala. The Schwab Financial Innovation Award will be presented to Dan Schulman, President & CEO of PayPal. The Whitehead Award for Distinguished Public Service and Financial Leadership will recognize the significant contributions of James P. Gorman, Chairman & CEO of Morgan Stanley. The Lifetime Achievement Award will honor the achievements of Peter A. Cohen, Chairman & CEO of Andover National Corporation.

Exhibit Opening of "Ebb & Flow" with Live Recording of "Person Place Thing with Randy Cohen"
Thursday, March 5, 2020 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Please join the Museum of American Finance and the NYC Department of Records and Information Services for the opening of our new exhibit, "Ebb & Flow: Tapping into the History of New York City's Water," which explores the history of bringing clean water to the city while highlighting the story of the Manhattan Company.

In honor of this new exhibit, we are hosting a live recording of Person Place Thing with Emmy Award winner Randy Cohen. Join us for a special evening of entertaining storytelling all about New York City and water, featuring the commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Vincent Sapienza.
