CEO Series Launch


MoAF and Cheddar Collaborate on CEO Video SeriesWednesday, September 6, 2017

The Museum has launched a new monthly video series featuring 10 CEOs from across the financial industry discussing “Why Wall Street Matters” from their individual perspectives. The CEO Series is a collaboration between the Museum and Cheddar, a live and on demand news network covering technology, media and entertainment, which broadcasts daily from the NYSE floor. The series introduction by Cheddar CEO Jon Steinberg and the first video in this series, featuring OppenheimerFunds CEO Art Steinmetz, are now available on our YouTube channel.

The Museum's founder discusses his new book about the legendary Wall Street firm his family founded.

In 1959, John joined Herzog, Heine, Geduld, Inc., which his father founded in 1926. With Irwin and Buzzy Geduld, John spearheaded its expansion into the third-largest Nasdaq market maker in the country. After the sale of the firm to Merrill Lynch in 2000, he devoted himself to R.M. Smythe & Co., the family auction firm dealing in antique stocks and bonds, bank notes, coins and autographs. After the stock market crash of 1987, John founded the Museum of American Finance to enhance public understanding of the capital markets.
