Our 1903 Commemorative Print
$52.50
The dawn of the twentieth century found a new era of financial investments. Trading in listed stocks had tripled from 1896 to 1899, and the New York Stock Exchange needed an additional trading space to handle the volume. In 1903, the NYSE relocated to their now familiar building on the corner of Wall and Broad Street. This poster was commissioned to commemorate the move into the new building. This rendition of the Exchange looks down Wall Street including both Federal Hall and Trinity Church, and is surrounded by pictures of the 112 men who had seats on the Exchange. They include financial legends Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Charles M. Schwab, and many others. Today the NYSE building remains both a New York City and national landmark.
