Alexander Hamilton Birthday Event

Monday, January 11, 2016 | 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM

Event Location:
Trinity Church (Wall Street and Broadway)
New York City

Celebrate Alexander Hamilton's 259th birthday with the annual remembrance at Hamilton's gravesite at Trinity Church. The ceremony will include the traditional wreath-laying sponsored by the Museum of Finance and the participation of the US Coast Guard and representatives from Hamilton's birth island of Nevis.

Following the graveside ceremony, a keynote speech will be given inside Trinity Church by Dr. Stephen F. Knott, who will speak on his new book, Washington and Hamilton: The Alliance That Forged America.

Also, take this weekend to visit the Museum to see Alexander Hamilton's personal copy of Grotius's Laws of War and Peace, which is on display in the Hamilton Room through Hamilton's birthday.

This event is presented by the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society as part of the "Happy Birthday Hamilton!" program, which includes multiple events at historic locations around the anniversary of Hamilton's birthday. Click here for information about all of the events planned.
